How to check the hardware version of Magewell product

Pro Capture Family, Eco Capture Family Method Ⅰ: Through device appearance The hardware version is printed on the PCB board. The format is REV-X(letter)X(number). For example, REV-A1. Method Ⅱ: Through driver panel (for Windows) Call the driver panel of capture card. Enter the Info tab page to view the Hardware version. Method Ⅲ: Through command line (for Linux) Run the following command in the Terminal to view the device information. For Pro Capture card, run: mwcap-info -i For Eco Capture card, run: mweco-info -i Under Device, view the Hardware version. USB Capture (Plus) Family Method Ⅰ: Through device appearance Check for the product serial number (S/N) at the back of your capture device. The first letter of the serial number stands for the hardware version. Method Ⅱ: Through USB Capture Utility Open USB Capture Utility V3. Enter the Info tab page to view the Hardware version. Pro Convert Family Log in Pro Convert Web UI. Enter the Dashboard tab page, and then view the Hardware version under the Pro Convert category.

How to check SDK version

SDK V3 under C:\Windows\System32, right-click the LibMWCapture.dll file and then click Properties. In the LibMWCapture.dll Properties dialog box, click Details and then view the File version. SDK V2 under C:\Windows\System32, right-click the LibXIStream2.dll file and then click Properties. In the LibXIStream2.dll Properties dialog box, click Details and then view the File version.

How to check the serial number of Magewell products

This topic describes how to check the serial number of various Magewell product series. Pro Capture Family, Eco Capture Family USB Capture (Plus) Family Ultra Stream / Ultra Encode Family Pro Convert Family Pro Capture Family, Eco Capture Family Method 1: On device package Find the serial number on the package of your capture card. Method 2: On device The stickers on the capture card are printed with serial number and P/N code. The first set of code is the serial number. Method 3: Through driver panel (for Windows) Call the driver panel of capture card. Enter the Info tab page to view the Serial number. Method 4: Through command line (for Linux) Run the following command in the Terminal to view the device information. For Pro Capture card, run: mwcap-info -i For Eco Capture card, run: mweco-info -i Under Device, view the Serial number. USB Capture (Plus) Family Method 1: On device package Find the serial number on the package of your capture device. Method 2: On device Check for the product serial number (S/N) at the back of your capture device. Method 3: Through USB Capture Utility This method applies when only one USB Capture is connected to the host. On the host to which USB Capture is connected, open USB Capture Utility V3. If multiple USB Capture devices are connected to the host, select a device at the top of USB Capture Utility. Enter the Info tab page to view the Serial number. Ultra Stream / Ultra Encode Family Method 1: On device package Find the serial number on the package of Ultra Stream / Ultra Encode. Method 2: On device Find the serial number on the back of your device. Method 3: Through Web UI Log in to the Web UI of your device. Access the About tab page, and check Serial Number in the About area. Pro Convert Family Method 1: On device package Find the serial number on your device package. How to check the driver version of Magewell product

Method 3: Through command line (for MacOS) For Pro Capture card: Run the following command in the Terminal: kextstat | grep ProCapture The numbers enclosed in the parentheses after com.magewell.ProCaptureDriver stands for the driver version.

Minimum bandwidth requirements for multi-channel video capture

When multiple channels of video are being captured with Magewell capture device, it is necessary to ensure that the transmission bandwidths of the capture devices and the computer's bus (PCIe or USB bus) are sufficient for the total data of multi-channel video streams; otherwise, frame drop will occur. The maximum transmission bandwidths of PCIe interface and USB interface are: PCIe x1 Gen 2: ~400MB/s PCIe x4 Gen 2: ~1600MB/s Note: Although Pro Capture HDMI 4K, Pro Capture AIO 4K, and Pro Capture DVI 4K Capture cards use the PCIe x4 Gen 2 interfaces, their actual transmission bandwidths are only ~1200MB/s. USB 3.0 bus: ~400MB/s USB 2.0 bus: ~50MB/s When capturing multi-channel video streams, you can refer to the following table to select the video capture format.

Will the recorded file be damaged if the input signal is lost during recording?

Signal loss will not damage the recording file. However, during the period of losing input signal, the captured images will be all black.

Do Magewell capture devices support alternately outputting the top/bottom field of interlaced signals?

Both USB Capture (Plus) and Pro Capture Family products support alternately outputting the top/bottom field of interlaced signals. Methods are as follows: For USB Capture (Plus) Family, open the USB Capture Utility V3 software, click the Video tab, and then set the Deinterlace property to Weave. For Pro Capture Family, refer to the "CaptureByField" example provided in Magewell SDK.

Which capture products support video signals in 1080p240Hz format?

Pro Capture HDMI 4K Plus, Pro Capture HDMI 4K Plus LT, Pro Capture Dual HDMI 4K Plus LT and Pro Capture AIO 4K Plus support 1080p240Hz video input and capturing. USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus supports 1080p240Hz video input. However, due to the bandwidth limitation of USB 3.0, this product does not support 1080p240Hz video capturing.

Do Magewell products support HANC/VANC data extraction?

Both the Pro Capture and Eco Capture Family's SDI capture cards support HANC/VANC data extraction. Note that you must use the Magewell SDK to do this.

Pro Capture Dual SDI 4K Plus card has 8 HD BNC interfaces. Can each interface capture one channel of video?

Pro Capture Dual SDI 4K Plus card is a dual-channel capture card. After installing the driver, the system will load two capture channels. Each channel corresponds to four interfaces, and the signal types supported by each interface are as follows: Interface 0: Supports single-link 3G SDI signal. Interface 1: Supports single-link 3G SDI signal. Interface 2: Supports single-link 3G/6G SDI signal. Interface 3: Supports single-link 3G/6G/12G SDI signal. The four interfaces can receive quad-link 3G SDI signals, which can be integrated into a single-link 12G SDI signal. Interfaces 2 and 3 can receive dual-link 6G SDI signals, which can also be integrated into a single-link 12G SDI signal.
