China, Nanjing, November 14th, 2014—Magewell today announces the new video capture box, XI100XUSB-PRO (PnP). XI100XUSB-PRO (PnP) can capture 1 channel SD/HD/3G-SDI + audio/HDMI/DVI+ audio /VGA+ audio /YPbPr+ audio /S-video+ audio /CVBS+ audio signal. It supports input video at 1080p/60Hz.
XI100XUSB-PRO (PnP) is the upgraded version of XI100XUSB-PRO. They are not different in hardware but the firmware versions are not the same. The new firmware supports UVC protocol， so driverless and PnP are possible on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. The data transmission rate of XI100XUSB-PRO (PnP) has been increased compared to XI100XUSB-PRO and the actual rate can be up to 390 MB/S. One improvement is that XI100XUSB-PRO (PnP) uses SG-DMA to transfer data, which does not involve CPU, therefore, CPU usage is reduced. Another important improvement is that video processing is completely done by FPGA, including up and down scaling, cropping, auto detection of interlaced video and auto deinterlacing, color adjustment, color space conversion. Zero extra CPU usage is caused. In addition, it adds a new function of directly processing YUV without converting it to RGB first, so the captured image is more accurate in color.
